Edward Snowden Needs No Pardon

He has not been convicted of anything.
Post-Standard Letter (published January 18, 2014).

To the Editor:

The Sunday opinion article, "Should CIA Leaker Snowden Be Pardoned?", seems inappropriately titled. Snowden has not yet been tried or convicted of anything, so there is nothing to pardon. Rather, over the past six months, Snowden has clearly shown, by his actions and by the nature of the information he released on how our government is lying to us, that he is a whistle-blower and should be praised for his service to the public. The government should guaranty Snowden immunity from any prosecution on the matter and welcome him back home.
